These feature a lot of Whedonverse alums

And OMG, I hope half those cop/dr/religion shows don't get picked up so people don't get confused about the inside (that and they sound crappy)

searched on the futon critic for info on Blind Justice and from what I'm seeing I'm guessing it's not getting picked up for a second season.

Guess I'll know for sure in a bit when the networks publish their fall schedules, but crap.

Yeah...so on monday I was right when I told my boss she was supposed to submit my RSVP thing for the grad group retreat. Of course, I dread it so much that I put off looking at it till the day she left to be out of town for I'm not exactly sure how long. Doh. Oh well, not like she can yell at me too much since she isn't going to be able to attend the entire weekend:P

If I have to, hell, I'll just drive my rental car back and forth every night. Might prefer it anyways. Siigh, that will knock my credit card bill up a bit since it's hovering around 2000 for the first time in ohh, 2 yrs, I guess that's not too bad.

Also gave in to my spending lust I've been having for a few days (buying stuff for the folks doesn't quite satisfy it) and bought two more books and a cd for myself from amazon. Hopefully the book on editing is as good as it is described. Hopefully (*hugs betas* Not that you guys don't kick ass, this is for my own perusal cause I'm tired of beating myself up when I beta for others on whether I'm nitpicking correctly or just forcing everyone to write in my own style).

And...boss is gone at least today...so I slept in and am moving extremely slow. And now I don't feel like I can work out cause it would really cause me to get in LATE. But I also don't have a lot to do at work other than figure out the sequence thing that I didn't do yesterday cause my back was killing me (and what is it w/ everywhere having to set their computers up badly? Course it could just be that my back is getting to the bad place again).

And I'm starting to realize that part of my back/headaches may be the ignored tension from worrying about my mom's impending back surgery. It's not scheduled yet cause she has to be off her blood thinners and prednisone two weeks before, but she can't go off them till they schedule it. Hopefully by June cause I really want to be able to go home sometime in JUly and see her much improved. But am worrying...especially since my parents keep saying they "don't want to worry me" and my mom keeps admitting "Oh well we weren't going to tell you about this test/hospitilazation/etc because we don't want you to worry".

*scratches head* Just checking, but really, am I in the center of some massive conspiracy to see exactly how much stress and paranoia a normal person can handle before cracking? Just saying.

And the mess really is reaching the breaking point. Siiigh, I hate how about 1/4 of all the mess is mail/papers etc that I can't throw away till I rip them up...huh, maybe I should go check and see if amazon has a cheap shredder to add to my order, cause I get so sick of doing it by hand and wondering if i got the important numbers. the other 1/4 of the mess is laundry followed by another 1/4 of papers for work. *growls*

Then support FilibusterFrist.com. This is a set of Princeton students who have been continuously filibustering for 360 hrs now...They have now traveled to Washington DC after beginning the protest on their own campus. They have a paypal link so that you can donate money.

Okay, I doubt there are any Republicans on my flist, but in case you have deluded republican friends, send them to this link --SENATOR KENNEDY: Republicans Breaking Senate Rules -- this is speech he just gave on the Senate floor.

No, No, I'm not going back on what I said I was going to do. But I was watching some of [livejournal.com profile] lithium_doll's farscape vids as I tore up way too many pieces of billing info and was struck with what I'm sure is not a unique thought.

But I'm going to spam your flist with it anyway.

In a way, I'm almost happy that Firefly ended when it did (please hold flames till the end). It's just from the standpoint of a writer, things were left in such a way that it begged people to fill in the blanks, do characterization stories, and just basically drug every hibernating or nascent muse kicking and screaming into reality. At least that is what it did for me. I fear that if the series had continued into spring etc, that things would have become much better defined etc. Granted, Joss doesn't always do that. In the past, he's left entire countries of backstory and ideas to be explored. But I'm not sure that Firefly, in it's focus on mortals, would have necessarily have gotten the same treatment.

Because with Farscape, my muse is terrified of it. The entire series fits together so continuously and tightly, that's it's hard to find an idea or a plot that wasn't completely and fully developed. There are potentials there, but it just seems so solid and even after rewatching episodes and such, they seem so complete. Heck, even trying to insert in stories/days seems hard because especially in anything past season one, you have to know your timeline so frigging intricately for it to be believable and fit. Granted, AUs and such work nicely, but still.

I dunno, just me thinking out loud as my muse keeps bashing and I keep protesting that it's wanting me to deal w/ 14 frigging characters. Think I may have found a way around it, but I anticipate needing to rewatch a lot of episodes....and while not a pain, well, it's just soo much harder when there are so many episodes instead of the what, 12 we got w/ firefly.

*sigh* Back to the monotony of my planned day.

yeah, I forsee my hair going short in the very very near future. This shedding is getting ridiculous and I'm just getting fed up.

siiigh, now to just find one that I want that I haven't had before.

I really really loathe cinguliar and heartily suggest no one else be dumb enough to use them. Switched cause I'd been w/ at&t and figured it would be similar service etc etc. Wrong!! thier website sucks ass....I changed via the website but then had to call in to activate the phone and they went through the whole rate plan spiel again...but of course, the stuff I signed up on the web never made it to my account. So why have that frigging option? Arrggh.

Then, I get to experience something I've never had to deal w/ w/ a cell phone --- spontaneously dropped calls. Which makes cingulair's commercials hilarious. Serious, I'll go from 5 bars to 1 w/out moving period. Auugh.

hate them, yes.

Buffyverse Day 2005!!!

Post about why you love the Buffyverse... what drew you in... what keeps you in it... Talk about your favorite episode, your favorite character, your favorite pairing, your favorite whatever. Write a story, make an icon or two, post an essay... Just show your flist why you love the Buffyverse!

Why I love Buffy huh? Well, gotta say, I was never really that fanatical about the show. I kinda enjoyed it like I enjoyed Hercules and Xena for a long time --- the camp factor was fun. Something to sit around and eat chinese food while laughing in college. And that was about it.

Till I got sucked in during the whole season of Glory during my first year of grad school. Loved that entire season to little bitty bits. Enjoyed Dawn unlike most others I think, loved the Ben/Glory aspect, and just found it very entertaining. Then we started to get episodes like The Body and The Gift and a light went on. Started to see past a bit of the fluff to the underlayer (which I began to appreciate more after buying the firefly dvds and listening to the commentaries -- ie my own little film appreciation camp).

That's about it;)

Well, I was marginally successful on todays goals. All the bills are torn, threw away and organized some of the papers cluttering the floor, and cleaned up a few other things. Not all done but still, progress;) Besides...after all my griping about writing, the muses decided to come out to play, but all they gave me yet again was talking heads *shakes fists* Going to try to get some more of it down, see if there's anything I can figure out to edit, before asking a beta to tell me it's as bad as I know it is. (except for the three scenes that came out well enough to keep me going despite talking heads).

After that, I was so frustrated that I thought if I watched some of S3 farscape I might have a revelation. s3 spoilers )

ETA and after all the vids I've been consuming all day too....I revise my previous opinion...John looks really hot in the red peacekeeper uniform.
*thank god I don't have the problems w/ ben in farscape that I have of seeing his stargate photos*

*pokes flist* You guys have been being quiet lately. Sigh, suppose it's cause so many are home from college.

spoilers for all seasons of farscape )
Anyway...just some idle thoughts on one of the characters that has probably occurred to many of ya. We'll see if I can do anything else coherent about the rest.
