Normally, I don't post from work during the day, but I saw this at www.dailykos.com and was so outraged that I had to share:

From Congress Daily AM (subscription only).

Senate Majority Leader Frist is expected to take an open-ended approach to the looming floor fight over eliminating the ability to filibuster judicial nominations, opting to allow members from both parties to fully air their concerns and beliefs before forcing a floor vote on the rule changes, a senior GOP aide said Wednesday.

Barring an emergency, Frist is expected to essentially suspend all legislative activity on the floor until the judicial nomination fight is resolved, the aide explained.

So there is nothing more pressing in the senate to discuss than this gorram filibuster issue over the confirmation of 5 judges?? Give me a frigging break and while we're at it, let's figure out a way to reduce Sen Frist's salary!!

Have been all day. Really didn't have much to do at work at all today -- found the papers w/ the info I needed almost immediately after getting to work. Designed the primers and probes I needed for taqman pcr. Recieved the chemicals I need for my experiments but too late to bother ordering cells today. And then sat around surfing the web and talking for a LOONG TIME.

One of the techs in the lab got bit by a spider a few days ago. The area of the bite is now red, swollen, puffy, and hot (she says it doesn't hurt though) and about as big as the palm of my hand. But she doesn't want to go to the doctor and one of the real doctors on the floor just said to watch it.

Me, I'm from fiddleback country --- I'd be down in the ER demanding something be done. Steroids, something!! She really thinks it's' just because she's been scratching it...which to me if that's what happens when you scratch it, I think you've got a small problem still considering the risk of a staph infection or something. Oh well, can't force folks to be smart.

Think I did convince everyone we need to go out for a late lunch/happy hour tomorrow ... hopefully I'll manage to get them to go to the bar I can actually eat at:) I have hoegarrden on my side and 2 of them know it and like it, so hopefully. :) Boss gets back in on monday though.

And yeah...still bored. Guess I'll do laundry and every thing else I've been putting off since my brain still isn't cooperating today.

And when will this rutting sweets craving go away already??

Huh...

Have been apparently playing phone tag with brian off and on all day. Though really, after talking to him this afternoon I cannot fathom why he was calling me at approximately 8ish (I say approximately because I laid down at 7 to rest my back a bit and ended up in nice meditative no man's land. Not asleep, but not functioning for about 2 hrs). After dragging myself up at 9:30, he's apparently gone to bed. And I am going to gripe about the fact that his voice mail appears to be on the fritz.

Ignore me, brain still not working and body exceedingly curious why I haven't eaten for over 6 hrs.
