I've decided that the silence of my flist is a conspiracy to make me go back to news link roundups.....
Pretty Bird Woman House rises from the ashes
Antiwar veterans prevented from marching in Veterans Day Parade. Supposedly, organizers claim the parade is to "thank veterans" and not for political statements.
An independent panel is studying the sentences of Crack/Cocaine offenders. They may recommend that the sentences be reduced by as much as 37 months.
Ron Paul has been getting a lot of press since he isn't as crazy about starting a world war as some of the Republican Presidential candidates. However, one shouldn't forget Paul's legislative record which includes bills to prohibit federal funds for population control or family planning, a bill to declare human life as existing from conception, a bill to ban flag burning, and another to repeal the minimum wage.
So the oil spill last week - initially it was thought to be 140 gallons. Oops, we mean 58,000 gallons. Much of the damage is due to the fact that oil booms were not immediately put into place which allowed the oil to spread. The reason? Congratulations, Fish and Game, you have irreparably damaged California's tourism and seafood economies.

Smog from shipping fules heart and lung disease. All the more reason to label everything with country of origin so we can choose to shop locally if we want to.
The National Intelligence Estimate on Iran is being released - sort of. The White House is holding back all portions that don't support Cheney's bottom line.
Okay, I can't go vegetarian, but someone clearly wants to make me want to. Specifically the USDA - Meat found to be contaminated with E. coli during processing is labeled "cook-only" and sold.
India and Russia are boosting economic and military ties
Tom Tancredo takes a page from the Rovian Homeland Security terror spreading..
A look at the ethnic demographics within the presidential campaign staffs.
Pandagon takes a look at the white supremacy movement and how conservatives have increasingly adopted their talking points.
The Senate is trying to cap emissions since the EPA won't.
Hedge funds and the like are looking to Bush and the Senate (ie Republican Senators) to beat tax raise.
Wow, I guess the normal cold snap means hell froze over. The Justice department has decided to start enforcing voter laws again.
