I'm still somewhat jet lagged. My body REALLY wanted a nap yesterday after working out, but I forced it to stay awake with a cup of tea - tea at five pm that didn't interfere with me sleeping later, which means my body really really wanted sleep.
Honestly, for some reason my body functions best on West coast time period. It's a mystery and it has detested doing anything else for 28 years even though I only visited the West Coast for the first time this year. Oh well.
But now I have motivation for trying to get done as fast as possible...if only I knew what I really wanted to do. I must say, listening to talks with a clinical bent did remind me of what I enjoy about science....if only I didn't have to be at a bench to be involved in it. So, goals for march are mucho experiments (sacrifices virgins to the fickle gods of experiments), mucho article writing (and reading, sigh), and a trip to the career center at some point. As much as I loathe almost everything about UPenn culture, our career center is kick ass and far and away better than most.
Oh, and if you ever wondered why we have to have mast cells which release histamine and contribute to allergies, they apparently are very important for resistance to various types of venom (at least for first exposure. After that, most people end up getting allergic reactions that are mast cell independent).
