Well, I managed to get off work early enough last night to hit Benjamin Lovell to take a look at some Keen shoes. Sadly, they didn't have much of a selection, but I went ahead and tried some on to determine if the insoles have a high enough arch. They seem to be pretty much as high as Danskos which is enough to keep my back and knees from hurting, if not enough to prevent odd accumulaltions of calluses. I went ahead and bought a pair even though I'm really more looking for a pair of nice black shoes. But these are waterproof and will decrease some of the wear that I invariably give my tennis shoes during my many miles of walking back and forth to work. The way they look isn't really all that much my style, but they are casual enough to go with my normal lab wear I suppose and don't look like every other pair of pumas that are so in style. Which, I'm sorry, I've just never gotten into the fad -- I thought it was in poor taste back in hs when lazy boys wore their wrestling or indoor soccer shoes to school and such, and I've never really changed that opinion. *shrugs* Then again, my sense of style doesn't really fit anything mainstream or not, I just hunt for the few things that don't hurt my eyes (or itch my skin, but that's another matter).
Work yesterday was very annoying. My results from my taqman run this weekend don't really fit with the data I put on the poster (which was just one experiment), in fact it seems to be exactly opposite. I had just repeated it this weekend and have the samples in the freezer ready for processing, but I got an email from the cell core saying that the cells they put out that day were "contaminated". No explanation on what the frak that means to me. *bangs head* Other than I won't be getting cells today, and uncertain as to if I will be able to get them this week. I soo don't need this people. But I guess it's my own fault for not checking the cells religiously.
But after all that, I was pleasantly surprised to really enjoy Studio 60 -- I very much needed it. *pets poor show that we probably won't manage to get more than a season of*
