I decided that in the face of repeated cycles of depression as well as continued gray skies, my layout had to be changed. So welcome to yellow and blue brightland, as I think of it. I should probably change to my lighter colored bed spread. Yes, my pineal gland screams for light...this is the only reason that pastel yellow has become my favorite color since coming to Philly (formerly, blue grey).
I have to say it, last year I enjoyed rockstar INXS. Despite less overall talent among the contestants, the final four was more diverse than supernova's and more likeable people. I still want to see Suzy Mcneil (I think that's right -- I just remember dave calling her Sweet Suzy the entire show.) succeed.
Dilana, Toby, Magni, and goth boy lucas. Ugh. Magni fell prey to the "already has a band that's semisuccessful" that Marty fell to last year. But I did actually enjoy seeing him perform. Toby, meh, eyecandy, but I never really liked his voice that much.
Dilana and Lucas -- at first I enjoyed hearing from them, but everything they did was almost always the same IMO. And god, the egos. *gag* Granted, they should fit in well with the rest of supersuck (I still wonder what is up w/ the copyright infringement lawsuit from the other supernova band).
That said, I didn't watch the finale this year. I stopped several weeks ago. I couldn't take anymore of jason. And seeing Dave in leather pants was wearing pretty thin too.
ETA - Okay, read the recaplet at Television Without Pity. Biggest news: Supernova lost their lawsuit, so they won't be "Supernova" when they tour. Good thing they sold those tickets during the season, eh?
Major gripe: The predictability of who got booted. If you were in the bottom 3 three times, you were out. Period. Over and Over. W/ the previous show, INXS seemed to know what they wanted and people left because "they weren't right for the band".Supernova didn't, and so they copped out and said "we have to listen to the fans." Which proves to me that you don't know what direction you want your band to move in and therefore, I pity the singer you chose because I doubt they'll have a job in a year.
I need to decide whether I'm going to write this abstract for this competition that's due tomorrow. My brain has recovered from it's sympathetic depression for what my mother was having to go through yesterday, but I'm still a little nervous on how her overall health and stuff will be come november (when this would require me to travel if I was picked).
but yay! yellow. Now if the sun would just break through this weekend. MUST MOVE FURTHER SOUTH.
