Q: If I buy more ram for my laptop, does it have to be the same size RAM as I already have? (ie 512)? I thought I remembered reading that somewhere.

the module ya talking about is a single unit, otherwise known as dimm ram module, the bulk of these, most times are sold in single slots on notebooks, what ya need to know is how much ram your motherboard can handle. that can be ascertained off the specs sheet of your puter at dell, most made in the past 3 years can definately handle at least up to a gb. this part dimm is standered memory so replacing should be easy
