And to think, just six years ago, I thought worries about WWIII were behind us for a long long while

Okay, I'm ready for us to be isolationist again. At least till the world recovers from our not-do-gooding.

The sad thing is that even when the U.S. was pretending to be isolationalist, American politicians were messing with South American colonies/countries... :(

There were problems in the world before the 200 or so years we've been here. It is just how things are. Just look at the history of Europe for the last 1,000 years or Japan vs the rest of asia. I just wish we'd stay out of things more because NOTHING we do is ever good or good enough or right enough or fast enough and since we invented the Big Mac we somehow should be supersized in every deed we do. Let everyone else hash it out for a while and see how much fun it is.

Another problem is that even if our government and military let everyone else fight it out in our imposed isolation our economy and business has way too many connections for there to ever really be any isolation. World moves too fast and rockets fly too far to be in isolation unless you are North Korea.
