*sighs happily*
I've just finished another Farscape marathon. I dunno, I started watching season four last week, and during, I realized that I've rewatched pitifully few of S4 episodes since finishing the series last summer. What a crime!!
I've skipped a couple of episodes, but mostly done chronologically through Terra Firma. Not really anything of import to say other than,
Okay, now I need to leave the nice pretty fictional world in favor of doing laundry and housework. And at some point this weekend, a dren-load of journal article cramming.
Of course, John is still just telling the muse the same line over and over. *kicks him* Come on guys, one month for sweet charity. Work with me here. PLEASE.

- Damn I forgot how pretty this show was.
- Everything about this show almost makes me mono-fannish. It definitely makes me say Super-wha? More shows need to have these types of production values, actors, writers, everything for their multiple season runs.
- I rewatched Don Quixote and am surprised as hell to find that I actually like it. I HATED it the first time through. Hated it. Something about actually knowing what the dren is going on makes it enjoyable. Stark still creeps me the hell out though. I think I feel about Stark the way most of you feel about cl****.
- Coup de Clam. I loved that episode the first time through. Now, not so much. All filler, little substance. But Rygel acts his little green puppet heart out and John in very very ugly drag. What's not to like?
- Shrinking!! Action figure scapers.
- Unrealized Reality. Katrazi gets said. We see glimpses of what happens in Terra Firma without knowing what the hell is going on (I totally saw that guy go through the wall. swear). Einstein. I still don't know whether to love him or hate him. The writers actually are way too wobbly with him. Maybe on purpose because who are we U-mans to understand the mind of an interdimensional wormhole alien. Am I right?
- The surfing the wormhole in the very pretty reflective suit. And standing on water. Jesus Christ imagery much?
- Merry frelling Christmas.

Date: 2006-05-28 02:33 am (UTC)Now, down to business *g*: I had forgotten a lot about the first part of S4 until I rewatched it recently. Sad, apparently obsessive shipper that I am, my little heart just couldn't take it. Too depressing!
1. Damn I forgot how pretty this show was.
Oh, yes. Very, very, very pretty. Probably the prettiest show I've ever watched. I compare everything else to it now.
2. Everything about this show almost makes me mono-fannish.
*nods* Again, yes, yes. Mono-fannish is an excellent word. I do believe I've become mono-fanish m'self. What's the word in relationship terms -- serial monagamy? I went through previous fandoms, but now I think I may have found my 4-evah OTP with J/A! Heh.
3. I rewatched Don Quixote and am surprised as hell to find that I actually like it. I HATED it the first time through.
Didn't like that one at all, with the exception of a few choice moments. Like Coup by Clam, which you also mention: "too much filler." And weird filler, only this time not in a good way. In a creepy way. :P
Maybe on purpose because who are we U-mans to understand the mind of an interdimensional wormhole alien. Am I right?
Works for me! *g*
7. The surfing the wormhole in the very pretty reflective suit. And standing on water. Jesus Christ imagery much?
LOL! I hadn't made the connection till you said it.
Okay, now I need to leave the nice pretty fictional world...
*whines* Whyyyyyy??!?
Oh, yeah, to pay the bills and satisfy your intellectual needs and make sure no one dies of starvation and dren like that... right? Blah. Come back to the Dark Side sooooooon! *g*
Of course, John is still just telling the muse the same line over and over. *kicks him* Come on guys, one month for sweet charity. Work with me here. PLEASE.
Umm.... go, John, go!!...? :D

Date: 2006-05-28 02:51 am (UTC)did you read the recap of DQ over at Television Without Pity? I'm not sure if it was just knowing what was going on or seeing the in depth literary analysis of it, but it actually is pretty dern good in the respect of huge themes etc.
Umm.... go, John, go!!...?
Umm, no. John needs to stop saying one line and smirking at me while my muse laughs if I'm ever going to finish Twin Regrets.

Most definitely.
# I rewatched Don Quixote and am surprised as hell to find that I actually like it. I HATED it the first time through. Hated it. Psst...it's John Quixote. I've loved this episode from the moment that damn castle turret appeared! I loved the subtleties (although it was the bitch-slap of subtleties.) of it. I mean there are so many layers to it that it's unreal. I know from asking Ben in Burbank that he didn't know about the coming episodes, but you can so easily read hints of the coming episodes throughout. Especially in the sonnet. (I need to dig that out and re-post it on lj)
They're not really hints and it just shows that I have an overactive imagination (and too much time), but I like to pretend that it's forecasting the coming events.
Stark was way cool because you got to see his unvoiced frustration with John here.
# Coup de Clam. I loved that episode the first time through. Now, not so much. All filler, little substance. But Rygel acts his little green puppet heart out and John in very very ugly drag. What's not to like?
John is not ugly in the dress. He is ded sexy. of course I got a thing for good looking guys in a dress. Maybe that's it. *thinks about it* Naaw...he's just hot. ;-)
# Shrinking!! Action figure scapers.
I just like the Die Hard aspect of it all. Not a top episode for me though.
# Unrealized Reality. Katrazi gets said. We see glimpses of what happens in Terra Firma without knowing what the hell is going on (I totally saw that guy go through the wall. swear). Einstein. I still don't know whether to love him or hate him. The writers actually are way too wobbly with him. I love Einstein. He's such an evil bastard really. I think they did a fine job with him. He's supposed to be a new element and you're not sure what his motives are. No more than what Ancient!Jack's were.
# The surfing the wormhole in the very pretty reflective suit.
That was absolutely gorgeous!
And standing on water. Jesus Christ imagery much?
I think there's a joke somewhere by Ben about John being like Jesus because of the same initials. *giggle*
Seriously though, I sometimes still get a chill seeing that final scene in its entirety. Beautiful shot. Simple. The music dies and you're just - there - with John completely alone. He's terrified, but he keeps his mind focused on where he thinks is home. He probably didn't really see the mouth opening up beneath him. But then he's just gone.
In my opinion, the reason he ended up in front of Earth instead is because Moya isn't truly home in his mind until he says that goodbye to his dad in Bad Timing.
# Merry frelling Christmas.
One of the best lines ever.
