Oldies but goodies

I watched an episode of Firefly tonight for the first time since the movie. I almost got teary at just the crappy DVD menu. *sniffs* Went ahead and watched the real pilot, Serenity, and (do I really need to put this behind a cut tag? Oh well) I got further teary when Wash's dino scene came up. It was all in all, pretty nice, and the first time that I've watched an episode since getting into Farscape that I didn't fall asleep part way through. Not that that's a criticism, more like a testament to how much I'd watched every episode since getting the DVDs way back when.

Also, pilot episode of Supernatural was on tonight!! Noticed the big cut that there was between the aired version and the torrent that circulated before the show started In the torrent, when Sam came back to the apartment after dean dropped him off, there was a plate of cookies w/ a card saying "Sam" on it. Which is why you see Sam eating a cookie as he calls out for Jesse. All in all, I still love the pilot. I really wish that most of the other season one episodes had been as tightly directed and edited (and had as good female guest stars). No, not incredibly scary, but very tight story and directing, IMO. And Mama Winchester. *sighs*. And Papa. And wee Winchesters.

No new kitchen lights as apparently everyone who was supposed to show up/do something for me decided to stand me up. Including the cells I needed to get. Oh well, means I don't have to go to work work this weekend. Siigh. And I did get my presentation all but done, so that's good. One figure MIA as I was waiting to see if I'd get to repeat the experiment before doing it, but oh well.

Now, now, I'm going to bed since for some reason my skin has decided to start itching enough to drive me insane and I'm hoping sleep will forestall me scratching myself bloody.

I recently started watching Firefly again as well. I find myself getting all emotional at the oddest places. (The last time I watched Serenity I got all choked up, not at the part where Wash dies, but in the very next scene when everyone's piling out of the ship -- where Jayne looks up and we get a brief view of the cockpit from underneath. Something about seeing where they'd left Wash from that angle just got to me.) *sniff*
