ow and never again

Well, I survived the dentist and I think my jaw is still in socket. *rolls eyes* never again, I swear if I'm here in 6 mo I'm finding a real dentist instead of using the dental school. Even stopping using the students hasn't helped as the hygenists are all about speed instead of caring about the fact that my jaw muscles are spasming due to my tmj not being nice to me having my jaw opened wide for more than five minutes at a time. Ever since the first student, Evan, who cleaned my teeth wonderfully and pain free, that place has been a torture chamber.
Case in point -- I have an uber small mouth. This is why I finally begged for new sealants on my jaw teeth after getting a cavity in my backmost molar three years ago --- I couldn't chew for three days after getting that filling. It's readily apparent I have a small mouth. Moreover, you can't tell me that the hygenist can't feel my jaw pop every time I maneuver to give her more room. Did she stop and give me time to rest unless I indicated I was drowning? No. Did she perhaps grok to the fact that my mouth could not accomadate two of her fingers, the mirror, the suction device, and another tool while she was attempting to get at my jaw teeth on the same side as the suction device? No. Did she realize that when she had to start putting pressure on my lower jaw to keep it open it was because it felt like she was trying to break my jaw and I was trying to bite her? No.
The only good part of it is she did get rid of ALL the tea stains on my front teeth that made me look like a pack a day smoker. The coffee pot comes out of retirement tonight and I'll damn well figure out how to manage caffeine anxiety or start drinking decaf cause we've proved once again that black teas stain my teeth to death.
My jaw had felt okay after I got to massage it before the dentist came in to do a checkup. But I can feel the swelling start on my tmj side now. Hopefully I'll be able to chew tomorrow since this was only a half an hour of abuse.
Off to console myself with soft madeline cookies from starbucks.
