You know, it's wierd. Despite how long I refused to get a cell phone (I've only had one for three years), I feel sooo....out of sorts without it. And I mean, it's not like the thing is glued to my ear. But just the knowledge that as soon as I leave work, I can't call anyone cause I have to pay for outward calls (even to B) on my landline....well, I just feel sooo cut off. Was very happy when my 'rents called because dude, it was contact!! And I wasn't sure if they'd gotten my message or been trying to call or what. I want it to be over already.

But it isn't. And it looks to turn into an ordeal. My replacement phone arrived and I was correct -- they only shipped a phone. Dude! They didn't even include A BATTERY COVER!!

WTF?

But, I popped in my sim chip and the battery and pushed the button.....nothing. Plugged it in....light comes on but that's it. Left it plugged in for an hour. Light is on, but nothing.

So still no phone. I get to call to see if I just ship the "replacement" back or what. And I still have to go to a Cingular store to figure out what will happen. My mom's all like -- "oh, buy a new battery". Umm, 30 bucks? (assuming). NOt to mention, if my battery is fried, I'm betting the sim chip is as well. Heck, at this point, I'm assuming the ac adaptor is working only due to its ability to turn on the light. That starts to add up. I think it'd be better to just say "give me the free phone, bitches". Especially since it's not like I have any accessories for it or anything.

Odd mood has not been helped by olfactory sensitivity and quite possibly olfactory hallucinations. Had a baaad headache last night that started it --- when scents within the apt are bothering, I know it's bad. And then this morning, I swear, I could smell garlic off of one of the chinese techs on the floor at a distance of 20 feet. Which is actually unusual in the new building. then I kept smelling wafts of other food odors at my bench well after lunch time which is when I began to suspect that I didn't in fact get rid of the headache last night, but rather, it was just lying in wait. (me smelling stuff in college was usually a sign that I needed to take several of the supped up sedative/acetominophen if I wanted to be functional in an hour. Have had maybe two of those headaches since figuring out allergies, thank god since I can't take that med anymore). And the cigarrette smell on my coworkers kept making my eyes water and causing my head to ache if I didn't' get away from them. Then when I went to the pharmacy, the entire building smelled of bum and that tore it --- headache came back full bore. :P:P:P:P

I hate it when pain conspires with any of my senses. Its bad enough that anything beyond a paper cut makes me nauseous anymore, but inviting my already sensitive nose to join the team is just not playing fair. Guess I should be glad earaches don't join the party anymore.

Love Monkey: Umm, the few minutes I watched, must say, not loving it. Seemed like most of the scenes were almost repeats from last week but w/ a teen girl instead of a teen boy.

NCIS: damn you, [livejournal.com profile] docmichelle. You had to tell me about the snark last season. I keep meaning to see if I can put season 1 and 2 on my netflix queu. *makes a note*

Autumn Effect CD by 10 years: Ummm, Wasteland is probably the best song on it. Two other songs are okay. Rest of the 12 have almost the same melody and emphasis pattern as Wasteland. Very very repetetive. The only reason I'm not disappointed is the cd was 9 bucks. or something to that effect.
