Little things keep coming back to me about my trip that I forgot to post about. The one that came to mind just now (courtesy of
farscape_weekly) was when the couple that I hung out with that are friend of a friend went gaga over Stargate---they love it and make time to go and watch it every weekend...but they don't watch ANYTHING else of SciFi friday. So of course, I had to intro them to Serenity. Afterward, they were amazed they'd missed Firefly because it was almost as good as Stargate.
*hear the jaw dropping*
As I refrain myself from slapping them with the dueling guns, I mentioned that they should check out Farscape from netflix and added in the fact that both men and women appear in very hot leather as added incentive (I have learned much in my pimping). They were dismissive as they said they'd seen an episode -- I told them to give it through the end of season1 to find its feet.
They then proceeded to inform me that Stargate had much better writing than the show of Farscape they saw. I only didn't kill them then and there for bad taste because I assumed that they'd seen I, ET.
Really.
I mean, nothing against Stargate, but classic cinema it ain't. Hell, there might just be more redeeming themes in some of the Blob movies than some of the worse Stargate episodes. Granted, when it's good, it's good. But it ain't farscape and there's not nearly enough leather.
On the upside, I got to at least "see" some of SG1 with Benny on it. I didn't get to listen to the entire episode since the said couple had dropped in and were talking to me at that point. But I got to "see" it. *drools* And I totally love Vala/Daniel. Really, I think Vala/Daniel might actually give John/Aeryn a run for there money just because of the complete lack of angst there. *drools some more*
Okay, that's it. If any rabid Stargate fans read this, please don't flame me. Firefly and Farscape are better...it's true. :P

Hmm..You know, I can swing room and board if you come and do my laundry that I keep putting off. The fact that it's actually moving is scaring me a little (well, that and the Supernatural from tonight).

Speaking as a pimp-ee, the leather thing really helps in the recruiting process. I'm just sayin'.
