so, read through the joss interviews of the Serenity companion last night. Some newish stuff, but basically what we've already heard. But oh, such pretty pics. Seriously, if you don't already have it and are jonesing to make serenity icons (and not really wanted to do torrents), you should see if someone on your flist has good scanning capabilities (not me). The pics are beautiful. I felt like I should have been wearing gloves while I paged through it. Don't want any thumbprints on the pretty boys now, do we? Heee! Can't wait to get home and look at it at my liesure (yes, I hide my fannish cult qualities from friends and family).
Oh, and everyone that went with me last night really enjoyed the movie. Tried not to get upset at my friend when she said that the only cute guy in it is the captain. Granted, he gets the most face (and chest) time, but they are all pretty. *glares* Yes, I want all the men of firefly to get equal love.
one thing after repeated times of viewing that is getting under my skin -- Wash's lines. Dude, how many times is he the one to say "Oh, let's go get to the beacon" or something to interupt the emotional aftermath. Granted, no more Book to share the duty with (and I get the feeling that Wash absorbed all of Book's lines from the version when Book was on the ship), but still. It just made him feel throw away-able. I really do wish he'd gotten some better lines at some points. I know, I know, big cast and all. Just, that's the one thing that after watching it twice in an 8 hour period that got to me.
Well, okay, that and the last long drawn out fight scene between the operative and Mal. Really, had I been the operative, I'd have stayed right where I was and just shot at Mal as he attempted to cross. Granted, you can get around it by pointing out the Op's inherent honor, but by that point, he's mad, he's hurt, and really, why the hell not?
Okay, off to get coffee before I come back and forceably remove my friend from the couch. Cause she may be all into these late nights and stuff, but I have to actually wake up and get on a noon-ish train tomorrow. Speaking of which, I need to find my train ticket. Everyone, cross your fingers for me that nothing dramatic happens at the Penn station tomorrow to delay or cancel my train. :)

Date: 2005-10-08 10:10 am (UTC)I reached the conclusion early on while watching the series that I'd sleep with all the girls except possibly River (she's pretty, but I'm not eager to be murdered in my sleep), but the only guy I'd consider is Wash.
...Yeah. Good thing I have the girlcandy.
