Acckkkk!

so the shoes apparently arrived sometime ago (at least according to the tracking info), but whatever. I have them. The snow boots I bought are horribly made---granted, they were only 30 bucks and they do seem like they will be warm, but I don't feel like taking the chance of whether they'll live through the winter. And I do have a few more months to look around. But sending back.

The rockports---these make me cry. They seem like they would be even better than my previous dress boots from rockport because they have a really good insole, but sigh...waay too tight all over when I tried them on after walking home. Ergo, way too tight to walk around New York in. Back they go. And no, getting another size in them is probably not an option because they are discontinuing this style.

And finally the Tevas--couldn't get my fat foot into the 6, no way, no how. (slip on w/ a high upper on). The 6.5 I did manage to fight on (even when I took them off and grabbed a thicker pair of socks to make sure). And omg, they have a soft insole. I'm a little concerned that I'll get some blisters on my right ankle(ie the one that is a tad smaller in certain ways although it's wider thanks to the physical therapy I had when I tore all my ligaments in it) at the bone where the stiff leather meets it, but hopefully that will be negligible. Hopefully. And I'll finally have a comfie pair of shoes to wear with my khakis and such to the lab so I won't look like the dork I did today. :)

I like shoe shopping online, I really do. Tomorrow, I get to print out a the return slips and figure out how I'm going to do it since it's via UPS and a large box.

But tonite, I need to look for shoes to wear in NY and order them. And man...I really had marked down a lot of shoes that I actually think are cute (which of course, to most women's fashion would probably equal ugly or plain)..and this is going to be hard to make myself pick and not buy to many. Really hard. Really really hard. And I've never really been a shoe hog before. But then, I've never not had someone sighing with impatience over me or trying to make me buy things I hated.

So help! Hopefully my willpower will remain strong and I won't spend tooo much money. Hopefully.

You're one of the first people to admit they like shopping for shoes online. I just can't, you know? I need to try them on first.

Wow, you're 6/6.5?
