Impressions on Prison Break
Aug. 29th, 2005 11:09 pmGrrr..I think someone's meme broke my flist page. So if I'm not responding to you, that's why.

icons100 managed to do a post that broke it. grr.
Anyways, despite my anger/annoyance/general pissed-offness at Fox for the way they did The Inside, I tuned into Prison Break tonite. Mostly because I'd heard such good things about it from my flist despite not really caring for how it was advertised. I went in expecting a 24 hour thing (not a fan here of that. It's not bad, I just don't find it entertaining).
And well...I'm hooked. It's a really good show, probably the best that Fox has had in a long time (no, I'm not including Firefly here). The writing is incredibly well done so there aren't any slow points. I'm a little unclear as to how some of the subplots fit into the bigger picture, but I can see where they may make problems down the road.
About the only thing I don't like is it's a little too in your face. Which, granted, may well make it more popular than most shows like Lost or Alias because it will be more accessible. but, it would be nice to have a little mystery. As it is, the incredible actors make up for that with their performances.
Seems like Fox has bet big on this one, so it may actually stick around like 24 has.
I'm still in mourning for The Inside though. And likely to give up House due to my bitterness as well as the fact that Supernatural will be airing against it (and so far in the premiere, has better writing than House most times. But we'll see how formulaic or not it bears out).

Date: 2005-08-29 08:57 pm (UTC)Gaah..and I'm bitter that the writers keep portraying cuddy, wilson, and well, everyone except house so unevenly.

Date: 2005-08-30 09:57 am (UTC)I like the main character (I can't remember his name) a LOT (and he's teh pretteh..), I dig his machiavellian planning and COMMITMENT to his cause. And he's a little too obsessed with his brother - which I dig. It's a River/Simon kind of thing to me. But I'm a perv so *shrug*.

I'm totally lusting after Ronon on SGA and will probably watch that show from now on after that Lapdance vid you linked to (I think it was you) cause OMG!!! *pants* He is sex on a half-shell. I drool just thinking about him... those shoulders...the...oh...*is puddle*
