Escape from Retiree-land -
Sep. 16th, 2011 12:22 amA success!
After spending yesterday in Niagara on the Lake feeling like all the silver foxes were sucking the life out of me (and getting propositioned by the elderly man that I helped find his hearing aid at the play), I successfully escaped the morass of retiree-vacation land and made my drive to the lovely town of Windsor.
Let me tell you, any drive under 5 hours is cake. I say this after having completed a 9 and then a 6.5 hour drive earlier in the week! Total mileage count thus far: 1100 miles with a 10 hour drive home to Trenton still to come!
But, I am in Windsor. I skipped lunch and ate snacks only in case poor eating-out choices had had any contribution to the headaches the past 2 days, and proceeded to drive through southern Ontario, which I can only describe as a mix of eastern rural pennsylvania and illinois. It was pretty for the first 100 km when there were new flowers and trees to look at, but that rapidly became repetitive and interspersed with large farms. Also, I continue to have an unerring ability to be driving the exact route with the most construction ever!!! So tired of construction.
But, now I'm in Windsor with the lovely fleshlycherry! She successfully saw me fed, berated me (gently) for not giving her the full corn list (I don't like scaring people), and we started our fandom weekend by rewatching some of the 10th kingdom (of which, I only remember Wolf, and vaguely remember the rest of the plot points but don't actually remember seeing most of the scenes.). And I've been promised some notragicmercury (unless I'm mixing up user names) tomorrow evening, and even her little dog too! (I've always wanted to say that).
But I think my 5pm coffee is finally wearing off and the bed is calling me. Toodles (oh god, the retirees brainwashed me!!!!!!)
