Are you a roofer, dock worker, firefighter, or pro athlete in California? Then you probably can't get health insurance and the exclusion is legal under state law.

MLK Day will see appeal for redress signed by active duty military published. One can only hope that Bush will listen to those that are actually carrying out his "plans".

New Iraq Plan: 1 billion for jobs and Kurds to quell Baghdad violence. Hmm, hope we've gotten rid of all the contractor corruption.

Amniotic stem cells. Much is being made about the fact that these should be free of the ethical quandries of embryonic stem cells. Personally, I'm not convinced --- maybe it's because I don't like the idea of certain individuals deciding that as a female, all I'm good for is an incubator of cells -- embryonic or amniotic.

Biologist believes Viking Space Probes killed Martians.

Who knows why, but a Brit stole a urinal.

53 years later, the US Postal Service delivers.

Well, I never did manage to find my dell pocket dj cd w/ the dell program for transferring on it. I know I still have it, but I don't feel like tearing my place apart for it. Plus, the program sucked ass royally anyways, which is why I used WMP. And don't even talk to me about musicmatch.

However, I lucked out when I was trying to find an online place to download the dell program and found - Red Chair Software. They actually have programs for use w/ a number of different mp3 players. Have to pay, and at least for dell there was no free trial, but hey. It also appears it will allow me to transfer stuff off of my mp3 onto my computer, which the dell version wouldn't and it never worked for me in WMP.

Anyways, thought I'd mention it in case anyone else ran into my issues. I'm just glad that enough people bought the dell players before they were canceled to make it profitable for these people to make this program :):) ETA -- they actually have a program alternative to itunes for use w/ ipods.

Of course, now I have to wonder whether or not the wonderful rootkit from Dave Matthew's Stand CD is still contained in the files on my mp3 player or not.

The Smart Surge: Diplomacy -- Wesley Clark

Well before the 2003 invasion, the Bush administration was sendingsignals that its intentions weren't limited to Iraq; "regime change" inSyria and Iran was often discussed in Washington. Small wonder thenthat both countries have worked continuously to feed the fighting inIraq.

Dealing with meddling neighbors is an essential element ofresolving the conflict in Iraq. But this requires more than borderposts and threatening statements. The administration needs a newstrategy for the region, before Iran gains nuclear capabilities. Whilethe military option must remain on the table, America should take thelead with direct diplomacy to resolve the interrelated problems ofIran's push for regional hegemony and nuclear power, the struggle forcontrol of Lebanon, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Isolating ouradversaries hasn't worked.

I really don't know what sort of vendetta TPTB have against my hands these past two weeks, but I'd really like it to end before I start losing digits/limbs.

Since we never seem to learn from history, American Concentration Camps. Plus, Halliburton KBR has been contracted to build and even bigger one.
