so yeah...watched revelations last night on nbc. Am a little suprised at how much *hate* about this show is floating around on lj. Dunno, it was really pretty benign in my mind for the most part -- no worse than a hundred other warlock or prophecy like movies. *shrugs* Written and directed better than say Point Pleasant, so it won't crash and burn out of ineptitude.
Biggest gripe was I felt like the POV through the scenes was being jerked around worse than bad fanfic. I mean, an entire scene consister of maybe 20s before you switch to different place, different person?? And then continuing the trend? It's a tad unsettling in tv. that and the hugest plot thread left hanging --> The nun tells him that she doesn't know about the whole satanist thing, but rather the scroll the dead girl wrote "lead her to his office"...Ummm...how? The dude is an astrophyscicist specializing in explaining biblical phenomena w/ science? What in the hell on your scroll or in your foundation led you to think that this man would support you in your quest to keep your brain dead prophet from being removed from life support?? that irked me throughout the rest of the show. then the ending wasa pitifully predictable. You've already set us up to believe it's his daughter doing the communicating (or at least part of it, did his daughter know latin and scripture? Which by the way---communicating in latin? So passe, should probably have been aramaic dudes) --- of course her heart will restart after he holds her hand for a bit *gag*
All in all not to bad. And all very fuzzy wuzzy in the nbc tradition....siiiiigh. Not something to plan to watch ever again...but I was avoiding work and taxes and the show was definitely better than both of those.
And yeah, 2 burgers at the bar in 2 days was probably not the greatest idea ever. Stomach, forgive me sometime soon, kthanks.
