Sooooo, cut and paste from word to dreamwidth posting is resulting in there not be line breaks between paragraphs....I don't remember having to hit hard enter when writing in word in days past. Is this some quirk? Or is there something I can change in my word settings?

For some reason, you have to specifically add the coding for paragraph and line breaks. I don't know when it started. < p > (Minus the spaces I put, so that it might show up in a comment.) Or < br >

At the end of one, it's < p > if you have another coming up, and the beginning of the next one is < /p >. Sort of the opposite from Ao3.

If you are using the DW post editor, make sure you are in the Rich Text editor, not the HTML. It does weird things if you're in the HTML editor. I would try that first and see if it changes anything.

Someone else was just posting about problems with this, and switching which DW post editor they were using "fixed" it, but I'm not sure if they had accidentally switched between using the rich text and HTML editors prior to that and just not noticed, or which one solved their problem. The HTML/Rich Text toggle should be at the upper right corner of the posting box.

The other solution I've used in the past was doing an intermediate paste into notepad (or no-frills text editor came with the computer you're using) in case Word was in fact doing something odd.

Check whether you're in rich text editor! I can't remember which way the settings go but one is right and one is wrong. (One of them always lies and one of them always tells the truth...)
