jebbypal: (don't mess with the smiths)

Well, I need to get myself off the couch and ignore the TV for the duration of the day. Apartment needs to be put back together, and I have some work I need to finish up since I let my reading addiction override reality on Friday during my spontaneous work from home day. All I did do that was good on Friday was mail back my shoes to zappos so I can get my refund (and admit that I have to say goodbye to danskos with the way they make their shoes nowadays. I hate looking for new shoes), got my flu shot (and world record time on arm/wrist hurting of about 4 hours - probably good I don't get it in my left anymore as that would likely still involve my trigger spot on my shoulder), and got my address changed at the evil BoA. They are also going to send me a new debit card to see if that fixes my out of state denial of service issues, but seriously - if that's not a problem in state, I doubt that's the issue so I'm still leaning towards canceling the account. Need to get my direct deposit stuff changed first. \

In other news, thinkie fandom thoughts

I'm still underwhelmed by most of my shows this season, but Lie to me is disappointing me more than most, probably because I'd mainlined all 2 seasons in a 1 month period of time this summer. And so the fact that it's not the show I fell in love with any more pains me. I was blaming Shawn Ryan, but some digging shows me that it's more probably the lack of Ryan as he's no longer listed as exec producer on imdb. Maybe it's something the writers are going to unravel over the season, but seriously, the differences between Cal and the team from end of the season to this season just don't make sense.

1) seriously, Cal's got writers block but wants to keep his money and all that? Stupid stupid stupid.
2) We all know Cal operates in shades of gray but this is even greyer than normal.
3) some explanation from the end of last season to now as to why Cal's at odds with everyone would be nice. And why's Loker leaving? I thought he'd gotten the promotion at the end of last season? Did I miss something?
4) Cal was all in love with Gillian until what? She's finally single and almost reciprocating? and now they're at odds? I can see how he'd get mad on the financial end of things but it's just too all over the place.

Some of this may be due to the rushed airing, but I can't imagine that they would have been able to fix the flow that much. It makes me sad, but I guess I'll see where they go with it. If nothing else, the 1st 2 seasons definitely ended up being nothing like what I thought it would be and make a great little show. In fact, I think that's the problem. The show has become the stilted crap and magic that I thought it was when it originally premiered based on the previews. Also, I miss Emily.
