Mmm.....new foods....

Honestly, I wonder how much of my new foods that I like is my tastes maturing as I get older, or the ability to really taste when things aren't covered up with the weird things corn did to my brain...
Celery, that's been around for a few years, and from talking to people, I'll believe that that's a maturing of taste.
Mushrooms as of last year....Probably a combo of new corn and also being around people that don't cook them till their slimy.
But seriously, raisins....my antipathy to those demon fruits tracks back to kindergarten when snacks were either peanut butter celery sticks (a no go for me with my inability to eat peanut butter without serious GI consequences) or raisins+marshmellows. I still don't like them enough to eat by themselves (which is good because the unsulphured organic variety I buy are expensive), but I can tolerate them in granola and quickbreads..and even enjoy them to a small extent.
Mm..better do some more work before my back spasms start again (fell on Friday) and I'm forced to resort to alcohol because the aleve have done nothing I tell you. (and don't suggest another pain reliever, aleve is all I can take).
