Okay, solved the cold bedroom problem - just needed to close one of the vents in the rest of the apartment. It was actually toasty last night.

Also, solved the cold feet while at home problem it seems. Even after coffee and decongestant, the following that I bought yesterday have actually got my feet warm!
slipper socks! and fleece sox!

Already got my mom a pair of the sox. I just need to decide whether the slipper socks will affect her balance/footing or not. Though, when she's wheelchair bound (for only the near future, I hope), I dunno if it matters.

Will your mom be lifted onto bed/bathroom, or will she have to stand and pivot? If she stands and pivots like I do, traction and footing will remain very important.

If her feet stay very cold, I recommend legwarmers with the socks. They help a lot in winter.
