Sep. 2nd, 2007 04:40 pmOkay, finally decided to see if putting the keyboard drawer thing on the desk got things situated somewhat ergonomically on this thing. The answer is yes, but of course, the drawer is a tad smal to actually sit the computer on (especially if it needs to be plugged in). So, after assembling it (very fun on my back and all..not. But I'm proud that I did it without getting a screw in the eye), I went to see if any stores were open to buy a keyboard at. And yes, there were..actually, everything is open. Keyboard purchased, a few groceries and home again. Also saw some potential desk chairs to buy once the finances start to sort themselves out a bit. This one (eight years old now) is on it's last legs since I have to fight anytime I want to adjust one of the arms and the padding is...nonexistent anymore.
Only other issue is that the laptop being so much further away...all my fonts need to be adjusted (so if this looks huge it's because the semagic font selector programs the entry...we'll see what happens).
Now then, maybe I can start to work without throwing my neck out. And I think I'm going to have to say something at work to the safety guy to see about getting some sort of keyboard drawer installed in my office because the desk is too tall and the chair doesn't go high enough to make anything comfortable. Yes, my body is messed up and doesn't fit anything...what else is new.
As of this morning, 'rents had made it through St. Louis. My dad is experiencing sticker shock at hotels and went to about eight last night before one was priced so that he'd stay in it (he thinks anything over 90 dollars is too much. And he refuses to listen to the fact that 1 inflation and 2 everything outside of OK costs more). Fortunately mom has already made reservations and paid on her credit card, otherwise I'd be scared to think of where they might end up out here.
Okay, time to start work. 3 more days.....
