You could always go West Coast. B.C. (usually, except for last year) has beautiful winters, but once you cross the rockies you get 8 feet of snow and minus 40C (223K).

But I imagine it gets as much rain as Seattle, no?? I don't do well with grey skies at all.

It gets the same amount of rain, but it doesn't have as many rainy days. Those clouds dump fast when they want to get over the mountains, so they dump a lot in a very short time.

It's not americans...it's us southerners that are used to temperatures compatible with human life without the requirement for LAYERS. And you know, the ability to work outside when temperatures rise above the dreaded 90s. Heck, I laugh at northerner's with their "oh no, the temp is above 90 for three days in a row. HEAT WAVE". I think the requirement in OK is five days in a row of 100+. Of course, I may be confusing that with just the heat index reading.

It isn't really the HEAT per-say that bugs us, it is the humidity. You have DRY heat, and there is a big difference. The humidity we get makes you feel like you are melting from the inside out, and it SUCKS! Also, I am a redhead, so the burning ball of fire in the sky doesn't like me.

the part of OK I come from is actually known for it's humidity. But I can deal w/ humidity if it's over 90.

I'm a furnace and always warm, so that combined with the tendency to burn if I so much as think about the sun... ya, I'll take Canadian Fall and several layers, thanks!

Heh...yeah. Well, from my mom, I've inherited "raynaud's phenomenon" where my toes and fingers will go numb very very fast if exposed to what they deem to be too cold. Heck, sometimes just extra caffeine on top of my decongestant with 70 degrees is enough to turn my fingers white. And yes, I wear gloves in the winter. Heck, I wear multiple pairs of gloves. stupid wind.
