I'm kinda impressed that I survived the last 2 weeks. Granted, some of the pain was self inflicted through petty procrastination, but still. I've written 3.5 grants from essentially scratch, and have the objectives for another one laid out.

Also, my case study outlines? Which, except for myeloma (and mds, but i wasn't writing an mds grant) I haven't really paid attention to the minutiae of patient care since our client never wanted our help with anything that wasn't mechanism of drug based. All the physicians that I ran them by had very little issues with them except for changing some of the regimen options in the second line. Apparently if you don't get fludarabine in the front line for treatment of lymphoma, they don't typically give it to you later (presumably because you were too frail in the first line so aren't any better I guess). Also, no one wants to repeat fludarabine treatment within 3-4 years of a prior one because it's not nice to your bone marrow.

Of course, there were lots of shenanigans such as the fact that I want to try to get ahead of the curve and never be trying to do a learner survey to support a gap analysis when finishing a grant again if I can help it. Also, it would be nice if the admins of physicians can a) read their doctor's calendar to realize that he'll be on a plane when you told me he could do the call, or b) actually talk to the doctor to see if he wants to do the time that you've set him up for.

Soo, fingers crossed we get at least 1 of the 2 we are submitting on Monday. And it would be nice if we could get the one for a conference symposium on the 1st since said conference is in HAWAII which would mean free trip for me :):)

The week was also punctuated by my anti-technology vibe expanding to electricity yesterday. When I got to work and plugged my computer in, the external monitor remained DARK. I tried various things and finally determined that the power bar was dead. Of course, it's plugged into an outlet that is conveniently hidden from view and reach by my desk. Which means the desk either needs to be moved or disassembled to reach it.

All of this means I got to inhabit my ex-boss's office for the day. Which, as I told the lead guy in the office when he stopped by to chat, was WONDERFUL. No extra noise. No perfume or food assaults. I made the pitch for the attempt to get an office when we move buildings, so we'll see. It was nice.

So now, I need to do some more unpacking, load a bunch of broken down boxes into my cars and take them to recycling before 1pm. Then do a lot of shopping....this whole blue law stuff where everything except grocery stores are closed on Sunday is a real pain in the ass. I need to find out whether its just my county or most of the surrounding counties.
