Okay, seriously, Hell lab boss continues to reach new heights of idiocy. I mean complete and utter idiocy.
D, B's baby grad student who can be pretty incompetent among other things, but B's been forced to mentor for a year now, called B today to inform him of what Hell lab boss (should I just say Satan? Except I don't want to give him that much power) said during their meeting today.
1) B is to not be allowed to enter the labs anymore under any circumstances. Not to visit people. Not to do experiments. (and yes, a reminder, B PASSED HIS DEFENSE).
2) B is the most incompetent grad student ever, and would have gotten kicked out of grad school if it wasn't for Hell lab boss standing up and defending him.
3) B never gives Hell Lab boss any credit for all the things he's done for B.
4) B, the grad student who devised his own thesis project and performed it with little to no mentorship or guidance and accumulated enough data for almost a Science paper and otherwise 2 journal articles all by himself, should not be D's role model. If he wants a role model, he should use S, the grad student who in three years in the lab has not been able to get one experiment to work right and only has his name on a paper (albeit, a Science paper) because he took care of the mouse colony. (meanwhile, color me bitter because Hell lab boss reneged on putting me on a measly Journal of Immunology paper even though I a) took care of the mice and b) taught the post doc the in vivo techniques he used).
5) In fact, that "kid" (B, the 33 yr old kid) is such a rotten example of a human being that D should stop even being friends with him.
*gibbers*
I mean, WTF? Yes, we knew he was passive aggressive, but this passes into realms of delusional. B says that his therapist was able to explain it by saying that some "aggressive personalities will respond to challenges by lie/cheating/stealing to get their way". B said he didn't understand what that meant until talking to D about this today.
Me, I'm still stuck on WTF???
how do I not have a hell lab boss tag? Oh yeah, I left purgatory right before the tagging system really caught on. Thank god. In other random news of "remember when" I caught myself thinking today of the days that you actually had to check on your ATM/MAC card to see if it was compatible w/ said money machine. fun times.
