ETA -- and now with a cooking icon.

I have a new favorite pasta recipe, which isn't that hard since all I mostly eat is olive oil w/ spaghetti and some basil. Still, since I've given up on affordable marinara sauce, this qualifies as more flavorful

All you need is pasta (I've been buying some organic pasta since I've been doing this -- I don't know if it really adds that much, but it's only 20 cents more expensive), a tomato, half a bell pepper (I've been using gree), olive oil, and basil.

-Boil the water and add the pasta (with a dash of olive oil to prevent over boiling)

-While the pasta cooks (about 8 minutes if you're using spaghetti. Refer to the box if you are using something else), chop up a washed tomato and about half a bell pepper. If you're cooking for more than one, you'll probably want to up to two tomatoes and a full pepper.

-Drain the spaghetti, return to the pan you boiled it in. Drizzle olive oil over it (I'm pretty generous in this, but whatever amount tastes good to you. AT least 1-2 tablespoons if you want to measure), sprinkle basil on top (at least a teaspoon, again this depends on your taste), and add in the chopped vegetables.

-while stirring it up, turn the heat back on to low. You'll only want the heat on for a minute or two and you want to stir the entire time so the spaghetti doesn't cook hard at the same time (alternatively, you could use a skillet to slightly saute the veggies, but this saves you washing another pan).

-Turn off the burner, and serve.

Mmmmm.
