Okay, I've done some drive-by friending of late and vice versa, so I figure I should do some sort of "hi there, don't mind the crazy" since I haven't listed interests persay for a couple of years and I'm not sure how much help my profile blurb is....though I guess it's not scary since people do still friend me. yes, i know, i need to stop finding new and more inane ways to procrastinate

Anyways, here goes (and fair warning, my non-fic post tend to be stream of consciousness for better or worse):

I joined LJ for fandom back during the end of Firefly when I finally got sucked into writing fanfic. Before that I'd been a long time fanfiction reader and lurker in multiple fandoms.

Other than that, I serve as the news service for some of the more busy of my flist (waves to luridmuse) so there a bit of political/news linking as well as random science stuff that I find interesting. Also, I enjoy having variety on my flist, so I tend to rummage around and find various interesting people via flist of flist that often have nothing to do with fandom.

There has been lots of grad school whining/griping/hair pulling, all under at least a flist flock....that is hopefully soon to end (less than two months to go!!!). Degree in immunology (not a medical doctor though) for the curious.

My fandoms are, well, I never can remember them all, but I've watched and read some of the following:
the unit, ncis, criminal minds, various seasons of jag, various seasons and incarnations of star trek various season and incarnations of law and order, the shield, farscape, firefly, cowboy bebop, invasion, supernatural, some smallville, buffy, angel, dead like me, some bsg, carnivale, deadwood, life on mars, coupling, quantum leap, brimstone, iman, lois and clark, ugly betty, grey's anatomy, seven days, heroes, big valley, the inside, the 4400, the xfiles, dark angel, everwood, brothers and sisters...and I'm probably forgetting a lot because I'm horrible w/ titles, author names, and the like

I write mostly gen (firefly, farscape, and supernatural), and tend to prefer to read gen/het ...etc. Though if there's enough of a plot and a talented author, I've been known to read slash. I blame mona1347 and her corruption of poisontaster. I have very mediocre graphic skills and generally worship before the altar of the more graphically talented of my flist.

Some of my fandom stuff I put behind flock to spare the uninterested -- I try to remember to add anyone I can identify as fandom.

Also, I've been dubbed the Kevin Bacon of my flist for pulling some "wallflowers" into the greater world of fandom and LJ.....though I don't know if that really applies anymore since their flists all dwarf mine now. Then again, I suppose the careers of many of the actors that are degrees of Kevin Bacon dwarf his, so maybe it still does.

My fiction muse is a frog. It has no name. Pity me, for it is a cruel master.

I'm sure my flist will fill you in on anything else embarrassing noteworthy.

And my user name is because I do actually have a friend named Jebby, I suck at thinking up pennames and hate using xxxxxnumber to get a username, and the jebbypal is never ever taken on any service I've seen yet.

Yes, I'm rather sad they don't allow any customization of the contest winner layouts, but since I'm too lazy to play around w/ color schemes on all the others, at least these look okay and don't make the eyes bleed. :)

And there is seriously a lot of "empty" space on this layout that should have been modified out. But then, I think your and cassie's skills have just spoiled me.

now.. dont laugh but.. you know whats really bugging me about this layout? *snickers* not the white space which yes, is annoying.. or the weird navigation .. but..

the banner's picture is blurry and needs to be color corrected LOL I've been looking at photos waay to much this week :)

LOL -- yes, that kinda annoys me too..the pic at the bottom is a tad clearer. Basically, after all the other ones i was fooling with, I just liked the fact that the color scheme was good and the font not to frakking small to read without increasing the font five times on the browser (I like my eyes and I baby them dammit). I should look at the other contest winners.
