*I will not feel bad for not being able to cheer people up* Seriously. What I can't change is water off my back.
In other news, it's hitting me that in two months I will HAVE A CAR!!! That has been the single biggest sacrifice of my grad school experience. I had a car all through college -- I was the girl with the jeep who would have people piled in it for cross state trips - even the cargo area. We probably would have strapped people to the cargo rack if it wasn't against the law ;) LOL.
Renting a car isn't the same. Philly car share arrived after I'd met B and when my rent started increasing to pinching levels so I didn't really have the spare income. I was always annoyed at the need to take amtrak places (not to mention the outrageous prices IMO).
But sooon, soon, I'll be able to plan weekend trips!!! And go SHOPPING for more than I can carry for two blocks. And go to the mall ALONE. (B's relatively good to shop with, but I still feel this *need* not to just plain browse when I'm with him. Not to mention being very aware of him sitting in the husband chair in an all female store. Okay, yes, I'm somewhat looking forward to not needing to be attached at the hip to him as well).
car car car. It will be worth the expense. Yes, it will. Though I expect to do much cursing about Jersey drivers.
I really do keep expecting the good mood and excitement to wear off.
