it's not actually something that I don't know how to do. It's just the absolute pain of having to compile data from several excel spreadsheets to do averages. So unless you know a way to make "paste values only" the default for "ctrl v", there's no less pain.
Plus, there never seems to be an easy way to figure out the easiest way to set up the averages..vertically or horizontally. both have their pluses and minuses.
I should have explained it's just the pain of compiling data from several excel files into one for averaging. at least I finally figured out the "paste values only" thing a while back so I"m not typing it. If only there were a way to make that the default of ctrl v
I can imagine. I should be glad I'm doing it on a pc rather than a mac. Trying to use any of the office products in Macs just makes my brain ache.
Fortunately I grew up using MS word so that one doesn't give me problems...generally. Except when it insists on trying to format things that don't need formatting and changing "dates" to "numbers".

Magic wand for it to do itself maybe?
