84 today!! And then 70s tomorrow before we drop back down into the low sixties for...wait for it...more rain. *growls* I want summer already! B's not looking forward to it though since he was already sweating this weekend when it was in the 70s and he was in shorts! Mmmm...sometimes it pays to be a woman with a lower core temp.
I really really wanted to clean this weekend, but on saturday I got sucked into watching Rio Bravo. I'm sure I saw it before as a kid, but I didn't remember it much (though I believe I have seen one of the poorer remakes of it since -- and by that I mean the director and John Wayne both got together to remake it twice after the original. Why, I have no clue).
Sunday I finally went to brunch at the organic grocery store w/ B -- he loves it mostly because he gets all the eggs benedict he can eat. I'd have preferred my crabcake salad w/ a side of fried potatoes (sweet and regular!) as usual since there wasn't a ton of stuff that I could risk other than the fruit and the omelets. Ah well, the place does have the Boathouse Nectars so after a few grocery stops I made him go back so I could get some. Of course, I also forgot half the things that I needed while I was at it (oats, coffee filters), but oh well.
I was so tired when we got back that I lounged for a bit before heating something else to eat....not long after I started getting a sinus migraine. I think I need to stop eating the spinach pita pizzas from trader joes. :( As a result, not much got done...and I've managed putting off laundry for like ever....sigh. Late tonight or tomorrow morning it will have to be done finally. My kingdom for my own private washer and dryer.
Oh, on saturday we did go to the outlet mall and I just proved that I should do most of my shopping at the Bennton outlet. First stop was the Polo store and I got some cotton tshirts for the summer. They wear well and are thin enough to be very comfortable walking to work even in 80s with 80% humidity (ie, philly's norm). Plus, not fancy enough that I care if they get damaged at work. Of course, even there they aren't cheap and I think I misread the sign -- thought it was two for 12.99, but instead it was if you bought two, they'd knock the price from 14.99 ea to 12.99 each. Uggh. so four wasn't quite the bargain I'd intended, but then again, I know they won't fall apart either.
The Benneton store was much much better. I've been worried about whether any of my dressier pants will fit right and such, especially after B corrected my notion that khakis would work for an interview. (Hey, I hate dressing up. Like loathe. I may not dress as bad as a normal scientist, but I've never liked dressing up primarily because as a kid, all dress clothes would pretty much break me out in hives). So, since I always seem to buy dress pants when I'm at my thinnest, I figured one more pair that's a tad loose wouldn't hurt....then I wouldn't be concentrating entirely on how the button is trying to saw through my stomach during any interview when I'm sitting down. Fortunately, the outlet store was having an insane sale on their already discounted stuff -- 25% more off plus an extra 10 from a coupon. So a pair of slacks that were already 20 dollars off the normal benneton store ended up costing me only 25 and then a fitted dress shirt for another 20.
Of course now, I just have to figure out my shoe situation. The black shoes I got in san diego are a little too casual for my new black dress pants and the only other comfortable ones (ie, that won't give me blisters within 45 min of walking around) are brown.....
Have I mentioned how much I hate dress clothes?
