Giving up....

I don't know who to say wins this one, but it isn't me.

I'm giving up on the scenes/chapter that I've been struggling to write for I don't know how long. I mean, I know what happens --- I even have half a scene written that somewhat flows past the missing chapter.

So i give up. Obviously this has all been my muse's way of sitting in the corner and laughing at me. When will she ever learn??

I shall skip ahead and write the rest of the story in such a way with some allusions to what happened in the missing chapter that refuses to be written. And then mona1347 can be the arbiter of whether it needs to be written or not.

Of course, if she rules against me, I may audition for other people to write the damn thing.

I certainly understand. My muse was gone for the longest time. I had trouble writing a grocery list let alone fic.

But my muse is back and I'm doing everything to keep her around. I sent you the one fic. I'm starting another. I'm moving very carefully and gently so as not to startle her. I've even surrendered significant amounts of Valentine's chocolate to keep her around. We'll see how it goes.

Well, I got my muse pissy by trying to actually write to prompts and being taught that it doesn't do that (I do not recommend amphibians for muses -- they have no emotions and therefore never pity you). But I struggled and felt victorious when I got the long long overdue sweet charity simon fic done.....

But of course, then it had to punish me. And once it came back, I'd forgotten the difference between punishment and "you're doing the scene wrong" silence. Or in this case, "I'm going to laugh until you figure out that scene doesn't belong in my story".
