Soo, I can actually say I've now watched two entire full episodes fo 24. Never really got into it, doubt I will now though I must admit the stunt casting of Macnichol and the actor that played Bashir tempted me in. That said, I just have to ask, whoever thought that the government portrayed on 24 would look more intelligent and benevolent than the one in real life?
Seriously, it's like a god somewhere decided his novel was too boring so the past few years has been a continuous escalation plot to drag in more viewers complete with static villains running the government, wars without end, catastrophes that are preventable but aren't, multi level corruption, idiotic scandals (Yes, Foleygate comes to mind), and on and on and on.
It's like the writer of our reality went, "Wait a second, the Nixon Watergate era got really good ratings. They keep wanting another one -- look how they refer to every little indescression as "x-gate". I know, I'll give them the "End of Days-gate". That'll be the way to take this reality out on blockbuster ratings".
Will the editor or publisher of this reality please restart the writer's meds??? (or even electroshock therapy, I'm not picky) Please? For the love of Pete, Tom, Dick, Harry and all the rest of us that have to try and live out our own little meaningless plots within the larger story??
K, Thanks.
