Okay, So I raved about last weeks episode and then the dren that just aired came on. Let me be clear in case you didn't see last week's episode ---- IT WAS ACTUALLY A STORY. Events were shown instead of told. There was maybe a total of 5 minutes preaching. The rest -- action and *gasp* comedy!
Tonight, not so much.
Probably 15 minutes spent preaching to us about the events of last week's show in case we'd missed the morality tales in the STORY. The last five minutes was very very very funny, but it didn't make up for the fact that the rest of it was sooo boring.
Also, part 1 was told in a series of flashbacks and very noir. Part 2, not so much. Which I dunno, I just disagree with. It's like changing which character is the protagonist halfway through your book. Just gah.
Also, Tom Jeeter's story was wrapped up by HUGE stream of exposition*. Gaaaaaah. It was like Sorkin said, "you know what, I'm tired, I'm running out of time, and by god, I just don't care anymore because they just ordered another 9 episodes". And even if he didn't write the actual script (I'm horrid at paying attention and remembering a writer's name. Then again, I rarely remember author names until I've read five books by them), he still had oversight and should have fixed it.
So yeah, this is basically my notice. I'll keep watching because I <3 Matthew Perry and DL Hughley, but dude. that's it.
Ohhhh.....the Operation joke. That was funny while being incredibly incredibly disturbing. :) LOL I soo need an animated icon of the end of that scene (not the one when matt's partner walks in, but the ... hugfest).
