Okay, setting up two ginormous chromatin IP experiments at the same time takes WAAAAY more time than I believed initially. Especially when you figure out you don't have quite enough of one antibody to do part of one that you wanted to....which actually turns out to be good because I wouldn't have had room enough on our mini-belly dancers for all the tubes (technical term: nutator. Belly dancers are more fun. Sadly the ones in our lab don't look quite like the two tiered ones that are generally thought of when a science nerd says belly dancer).

Also, postdoc really really really really really needs to stop coming up to me with inane shit when I'm in the middle of stuff. I say "yeah, ask me" because I figure you want to know where something is or crap. When I have tubes and tubes and tubes and samples and antibodies scattered on my lab bench is not when I want to get into an in depth discussion of how the fact that a reagent has been discontinued will affect the cells we grow. Just gah NO. Especially not with the tone of voice he always asks this crap in -- very beta male tone (although his voice overall does not put me into seeing red death mode like some voices can) which tends to just make me become uber-bitch that's been nagged once too often...I feel slightly bad that I bit his head off but gah, he needs to get it through his head that I've only been in the lab a year, i don't know everything, and I've given him all the info that I do know.

Yes, I know, I need to learn patience. It's a fault. I come by it honestly, but I can say that I'm better than either of my parents:)

Worked out today -- and meh. Place was too crowded so pretty much everything I wanted to use weight wise was taken when i tried to. Attempted to use the arm curl machine and remembered why I ALWAYS use free weights -- the thing fucks up my wrists and fingers very badly pain wise for some reason. Managed two sets of 8 and stopped because I was too worried about straining an elbow tendon while trying to relieve the pain I was feeling in my wrists. (my wrists are .. well bad to begin with to an extent. Long story, but they pop pretty much as much or more as most of my ball and socket joints). Gave up and did 15 minutes on the bike and remembered how woefully out of shape I am aerobically despite my always walking to work. Ickkk. I know I know, I look fine, but it really is ridiculous when you have to work out so that you don't injure yourself doing your job....when you're a scientist. Just pitiful.

Everyone else has been posting their reactions to TV this season and I've been pretty much staying out of it because I'm trying to prevent the muse from latching onto anymore fandoms. Period.

Standoff --- I already mentioned my love for this show. Whatever anyone else has said, I pretty much disagree 180 -- I think everyone has good chemistry, especially the leads. I guess one of us needs new prescriptions in their glasses.

Vanished -- I barely managed a full episode. Horrible beyond belief without a single bright spot.

Kidnapped -- I want to like it since several people involved are known to me in various ways. But but but...*shrugs* Better than prison break in that it isn't horribly over the top dramatically (sorry, I can't suspend disbelief enough to enjoy anything to do w/ PB). But after the first episode, I have very little reason to care about the parents....the kid, meh. And they shot the guy I did like - Virgil. That said, production values are so far above Vanished that it will be a crime if it doesn't at least outlast that piece of dren.

Heroes -- Enjoyed it. Mindless tv, a tad too predictable, but all the characters are likeable and all.

Studio 60 -- I actually like it, really really like it. I really didn't watch much of the West Wing because it felt too idealistic and out of touch. I enjoyed Sports Night well enough. This does feel a lot like Sports Night, but I don't care. It lets me see Matthew Perry for huge chuncks of time and he's my comedian crush so lay off my new show, okay??

Smith -- I managed to watch exactly 5 minutes of the show during it's premiere online. DULL DULL DULLSVILLE. They are trying to be too much of a slick movie that just airs on TV. The characters are boring. Everything happens too slow, and dude, it just fails for me on pretty much every level. Plus they did something to Ray Liotta lighting wise or whatever that actually grosses me out..ugh.

The Class -- it's actually funny. the laugh track is annoying as hell, but I like it.

How I met your mother -- I'm including this because I actually hated the first season. Mostly because the lead guy annoyed the hell out of me with all of his chasing after the girl. But now that he's got her and it's Allyson's character and ex that are the romantic catastrophe, I can stand it. And actually enjoy it. This is the most sitcoms I've watched in a long long time.

To sum up, I still miss Invasion. And Firefly. And so long as Standoff doesn't get cancelled, I'll call this season a win (hey, it's my Bones/House show. Lay off, I said).

I've been enjoying Standoff too. Aren't people responding to it very well? Haven't seen Heroes yet; I'm iffy about Studio 60, mainly because I adored TWW and I don't like Matthew Perry (hated Friends); the rest I haven't bothered with and probably won't.

I miss Firefly too.
