Are they going through selections or is it a sure thing they will use you? Bring a book if they are just going through selections! Ear plugs or something to wad up and jam in your ears. When I was suck in a room with about 40 other people waiting to see if we'd be selected I soon found the worst part of it was not waiting to find out if I'd be on the jury but waiting with the select specimens from society. People who couldn't smoke for six hours because we were sealed in and were on edge, people who hated smoking and tried to evangelize to them, people who didn't think people should own guns, people who wants guns, people who have trouble keeping their mouth shut and debated the *entire time* with perfect strangers....and me...curled up in a ball in the corner, rocking.
It was just selections and I didn't get picked because a) one of the parties being sued were the trustees of my university and/or b) I had too much medical knowledge for a medical malpractice case.
Books I had. Wish I'd taken my mp3 player, but I wasn't positive they'd let me have it. I now know I could have.
Fortunately, people weren't too annoying except for one exceedingly dumb white trash woman and the guy she kept talking to next to me that I suspect was almost mentally challenged. All in all, it could have been much much worse.Plus i kept my nose poked in a book and discouraged talk.
