Okay, I can't figure out if this is an idiosyncransy of gmail, or if my verizon browser from hell causes it. But I'm getting SICK to death of all the flash ads on yahell (i do not want to see date movie promos. I don't.)

So here it is, every time I've replied to lj posts in gmail, the gmail itself seems to lock up and not go back to the inbox or anything without me going to another page and coming back. Does this happen to any of you? Also, is there a way to turn off the "replying to an outside nonsecure place" warning that gmail gives you every timem you try to reply? And I've tried just clicking on the thread link, but that causes the same problem.

Of course, I don't recall having this problem before I did the conversion to yahoo voice via verizon and getting a new internet explorer browswer with the verizon logo in the little ms world square. *growls at verizon and yahell*

Oh, btw [livejournal.com profile] inalasahl, either the changes to the macs I made finally took or the unplugging during the move fixed the clocks. LJ works with the evil machines. Though I am growing to like safari as a browser.

Yay, I'm glad your lj-reading experience has improved!

Though I am growing to like safari as a browser.
Tabbed browsing is a gift from the heavens.

If you are on a Mac using Safari I'm not sure it plays well with Verizon as my mother was having the same problem. Switch to Firefox and see if that helps. Firefox has a more compliant engine than Safari does AND its pop-up blocker is slightly less kludgy.

Ah that explains things. Get the frell off IE and on to Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org) because IE 5 or 6 does not block pop-ups. I think you'll experience gmail better too. IE and Microsoft do not like places that do not play nice with Direct X or Active X, such as Google's gmail.

I just hate Verizon's Yahoo page! So, just bag it and find your own startup page. I think you'll be happier.

Oh, and I so totally, 100% agree that tabbed browsing is from heaven. FireFox does it better because you have more control over the tabbing via extensions. Can you tell I'm totally off Safari and on to Firefox???
