always behind the tech curve
Aug. 28th, 2004 09:41 pmOkay, for someone who keeps up to date, when did I miss the unveiling of the new type of compact disc format? Just curious. Purchased Trapeze (Tom Cochrane and Red Rider) over the internet and didn't pay enough attention to the fine print. What I thought to simply be an enhanced CD isn't --- it is DVD-AUDIO.
Fortunately my XBOX can play the music itself via the Dolby Digital option, but no luck for the videos that were supposed to be with it (the quality also leave alot to be desired...dunno if that is because the early Red Rider songs are copied from the original format or if it is characteristic of this type of cd played on a non-optimal system).
Anyway just annoyed that i jumped at the chance to get a Tom Cochrane cd and now its less than good (in fact, the acoustic cd Songs of a Circling Spirit is still his best! If you are a fan, search high and low for it!).
oh well, just thought I'd warn my fellow technology slackers about this new development :P Wonder how many years it will be before i get a chance to see the videos on this durn thing.
