Okay, so I've come through the month of January without my normal complete downward spiral that I frequently endure. With the weather though, there's always February for the SADD to truly kick into high gear. Still, one can hope :)

One thing has become clear the past couple of months though -- after 3 years almost completely on the sidelines of true immunology, I'm starting to lag behind. The one good thing about attending conferences in your field is that you hear and see enough presentations that you can coast on the literature for at least a year or so. After that though, well, you start to get rusty. Or at least I do.

One of the more annoying things about where I work is that we don't have any actual subscriptions to immunology journals, and the journals we do subscribe to are limited as we prefer to be able to recoup costs through clients and they don't necessarily want to pay for us to have a site license. However, general basic immunology is not strictly involved in much of my accounts, though I do frequently need to dust off the basics. Which again, is somewhat annoying when all Nature related journals don't have the backlog available freely. So, I've finally bit the bullet and acquired my own subscription to Nature Immunology. I know, I know, it may seem odd to be blogging about it, but it's also one of those things that when you are a student for so long, you don't quite get why people ever need to have a personal subscription. But trust me, the day your university id stops giving you access to anything and everything (6 months post-graduation in my account which was a while back), you start to feel all these things: lost, alone, and grownup. Where's my journal security blanket? LOL.

Anyway, February is starting. I have deadlines, and while I don't have my normal hibernation depression going on, the lethargy is definitely there. So I need to start making more concrete goals, and moving myself away from the TV some. Which is not necessarily something a fandom addict should necessarily attempt to do right at the start of sweeps, no? Still, it needs to be done. We'll try a couple of days of teeth gritting, but lists may be forthcoming if the procrastination monkey gets too much the better of me.

Remember that telling LD that you've finally seen the source for a relatively obscure fandom will lead to inevitable crossover bunnies being tossed. Generally in both directions. Because the world obviously needs more WIPs from both our adhd, caffeine-strung out flighty muses.

Also, when one's muse has been asleep for a good long while, it is both amusing and terrifying to see it try to piece together two 'verses.

Feel free to take this as fair warning as the frog attempts to poke at the gloriousness of Touching Evil. Which make take some rewatching. and Lithy's bunny required me to finally purchase some supernatural dvds

Obviously, I blame [personal profile] serrico........because blaming Don Doll is not productive for anyone other than collectors of horse heads.
