So close and yet not....
Aug. 2nd, 2010 06:58 amSo close to being all unpacked. I have 2 big "piles" left to organize/destroy - the box I dumped out on the kitchen table, and the crap scatter across my desk and the rest of the home office room. I will also need to empty out the filing cabinet so I can move it out of the closet and somewhere else...otherwise I won't have any empty-ish closet space since my luggage and some electronic boxes are taking up my hall closet and the rest the closet in the home office is taken up with the printer box and the flat screen tv box.
Also, I must say, I love the appliances in this apartment. The washer and dryer aren't as loud as I expected, and the dishwasher is positively quiet. \0/ Only downside I've found is that the paint job here is extremely extremely cheap as I was hanging a painting and it scraped up against the wall when I was pulling it up ---- grabbed a magic eraser to clean the pencil marks off the wall and then attacked what I thought was a scrape mark from said painting...except the magic eraser was making it bigger and then I realized it was actually taking the paint off the wall and revealing cardboard like drywall. *face palm* If I'd known that when I was moving in, I would have taken some extra days to repaint the place I think. But oh well, will just have to be extra conscious about not hitting the walls. First though, finish organizing and then get the super to fix it.
Also, all my allergy problems of the last week were cardboard related. As soon as they were out of the place, the next day, I felt a ton better even though I hadn't yet gotten a chance to vacuum. Evil evil evil stuff.
And now to go get ready since I have a little bit longer of a commute now. ;)
