As much as North Korea and the elections deserve to be discussed, Iran and Iraq have gotten shoved to the side. Iraq is reemerging as Bush says he's open to ideas even as he dismisses any ideas put forward by the Democrats. Multinational talks with Iran are supposed to begin again.

Meantime, this blogger provides a good dissection of what the Hawks in the administration might be after. It's a tad conspiracy theory laden, but then again, I don't really put anything past the Republican Hawks that have wormed their way into every Republican Administration since Vietnam (not to mention that manage to get us into a war every time they're in office).

*teeth chatter*

It is sooo cold in the lab today. Granted, it is usually chilly when it's overcast outside in the winter since we're on the 12th floor and apparently depend on the sun for much of our warmth (or at least we do ever since we got the imitation boiler room heat effect fixed). But today is a bit extreme -- my feet are freezing. My fingers are pretty much white. Can't wait for this next step to get finished and then I can put on real gloves instead of just latex ones.

Student loans, Sallie Mae, and lobbying payoffs to congress

Excellent blog about how Sallie Mae and the Dept of Education actually make money off of defaulted student loans.

Dear Sorkin -- why haven't your screen writing pals staged an intervention yet? )

So yeah, this is basically my notice. I'll keep watching because I <3 Matthew Perry and DL Hughley, but dude. that's it.

Ohhhh.....the Operation joke. That was funny while being incredibly incredibly disturbing. :) LOL I soo need an animated icon of the end of that scene (not the one when matt's partner walks in, but the ... hugfest).

*this word is brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster's brain, because my refuses to give me basic vocab right now.
