(no subject)

I didn't go to work yesteday --- instead did a lot of reading at home.

I was surprised this morning when I checked my mail to see if there was anything else I needed to send to my landlord (really, is it too much to ask for this guy to straighten his frakking mail out??) and found a letter from grade school friend that I'd gotten back into contact with last year. We're both a little too busy for more than very delayed emails and such, but she sent me a letter "from" her little boy -- he's probably a year and a half now I thinK? or a year? Not positive (I suck at these things). Oh, but he's so cute and it brightened my mood considerably.

My throat and ears hurt. :P:P:P

I do get to get my hair cut today, so that's good. I would like to know when I'm meeting w/ my committee head or getting my computer back at some point in time, but it looks like that's too much to ask from the universe.

sooo, broke down and called after the laptop today.


Annndd, apparently NOTHING has been done on it since I was called on Thursday. I was told the tech in charge of it was out in the field and he or the sec would call me when it was ready. Five minutes later the same guy I'd just talked to called me back to say he'd be taking over it's repair and to confirm what I'd been told needed to be done.

Siigh, and I'd really almost talked myself into believing I'd misunderstood last week and they were telling me it would be ready this friday and that they must have been having to wait on the part.

No such luck.

I would also lay 100:1 odds that tonight is not the time at which I finally achieve a working cell phone.

I really just wanna lay the smackdown on technology now.
