I can't take the histronics at whedonesque anymore! Deleted the RSS feed until some sanity returns among the posters over there or something.

Really, Serenity isn't The Inside. We were number one at the box office on a poor performing weekend. There's still more money to be made. There's still the world-wide openings in other countries. Universal has never stated that the opening weekend alone would determine ANYTHING. They stated the total gross of the film as well as it's staying power (am I the only one remembering Jewel Staite's blog when she said to be sure to see it the second weekend as well?). Universal is behind the film and behind Joss. They've optioned ANOTHER of his scripts (not in Firefly verse, but still, they like the man).

Calm the hell down, Browncoats, and stop acting like rabid hobbits.

Please.

Someone on my flist helpfully posted Joss's response to the Browncoat histronics over at Whedonesque. I lost who did it though (I had a lot to catch up on just from being AWOL for 9 hours. Can't imagine what's going to happen after four days!). All three (yes, three -- one each day since the opening) are over at the Serenity main site though.

POSTER IS DONE!! And B once again showed why he's darn near perfect by coming and helping me put it all together once I had all the computer parts done. Which is good, because any time I've actually done all the cutting myself, my shoulder's gone out. Still, he's a sweetheart and didn't even get mad when it turned out at one point that we'd both said the same thing with different meanings entirely. It all worked out in the end and was by far the shortest amount of time we've spent doing it. Having real data helps. Practicing for five years probably also has something to do with it.

Just pulled my blueberry bread (aka my breakfast for the next four days if I can manage to keep my friend from eating it. Yep, I'm cruel that way) out of the oven and it actually turned out well. Yes, wierd to crow over, but when you are limited to a single action baking powder (that is also past it's best by date), these types of things are huge accomplishments.

Now I'm tired. Waaay tired. Will have to go to work tomorrow to pick up my poster (as well as allergy meds--another 60 bucks out of pocket), need to pick up dry cleaning, pack, not forget my foods, and maybe on the way over, I'll manage to drop off one of the box of shoes I need to return to Zappos (and possibly pick up my certified letter the stupid landlord sent out. Really, who sends out a certified letter that you have to be home to sign for to a building FULL of people that work during the day? Stupid. And they left fun notices today all over saying that the doorman can't sign for it. Of course they can't, but they can let any Joe Bob that doesn't live here in off of the street). And I have a fun story from B to look forward to tomorrow --- apparently the roomate's only friend "broke up with him" today. Sounds interesting.

Let's see, let's see...Oh, yeah, it looks like I will be able to have some hot chocolate this winter after all -- will just take a tad more effort. I've twice cooked with powdered milk this weekend with no resulting headache or cramps. So apparently, however Vitamin D gets added to the powdered milk, the corn oil isn't involved or gets diappeared enough to not bother me. :) *drools at thought of having chocolate milk again* I'm sure Turkey Hill will be crushed to notice the drop in their sales of ice cream though;) LOL.

Oh, one more thing about my poster. It was a very interesting experience to not be hounded or hassled by my boss for the entire week before whatever I need it for. Even more interesting, was the fact that the non-hassl-y boss was very helpful today when I did go to show it to her and happy to give me a figure as well. :) hee, interesting feeling to almost have TOO MANY figures for once instead of doing magic to find three. :):):) Of course, the entire experience of the poster did remind me exactly what things I dislike about academics again. I can't believe I was deluding myself into thinking it would be okay if I could stay in a more medical oriented area. For the love of god, get me away from the ditzy pediatricians!!!! that know no science.

ETA -- and of course, I resolve to dress like a grown up for the conference and the weather decides to rain for the entire time I'm in NY. Worse, it will be eighty for the first day of the conference. Wonder if that means the conference hall won't be 35 degrees.

Finally -- 100 icons loaded;) Yes, and I took down my serenity waiting icons *waves bye* Innocence won't ever return here.

And a great GIP to celebrate the 100 mark.
