Well...that went well :P
so...called cingulair today again about my cell phone. Learned that what was quoted over the phone was last month's bill, this month's bill, and 5 dollar service charge. Supposedly nothing has been mentioned to a credit report yet.
But get this....they disconnected my service. Yes, indeedy. Found this out as the very helpful lady said, "we can set up your autopay but you will have a 36 dollar reconnection fee on your next bill".
My reply, "well then, how much to just cancel my service altogether?"
A slight pause was my answer. "Well then, if that's the only reason you want to cancel your service, then I'm sure something can be worked out."
Heh...so I unloaded. a) Why wasn't I called about my credit card expiring when you could call me the day before turning off my service? b) i can't ever make a call w/out worrying about a dropped call. c) your webpage rarely works. d) your false advertising --- more bars doesn't make a difference if I still have dropped calls even when my phone shows four bars. Or the bars change automatically.
*bats eyes* No info on how much to cancel my service was ever given. I was told that I need to turn my cell phone off once every couple of days so that it can recieve "updates" from the system.
"Hmm...that might be an important piece of info to share with your customers, ya know"
Her response, "Well, I'm sorry you didn't receive that info. We'll be happy to waive the reconnection fee."
*rolls eyes* Since my parents have cingular and so does B (aka the majority of my cell phone minutes there), I was like fine. That will do it.
But still.....makes me wonder exactly how much it does cost. She sure got helpful really fast when I threatened. Can't cost that much.
So...my cell phone should be working shortly. (B had tried to call me and not gotten through. I'm surprised he didn't try me at work.)
I'm amazed they did it that fast though ---- I've never been late with any other payment. My first late notice was DATED Aug 28! The phone call occured Sept 6, it's Sept 7 now. I mean, I've had late bills to landline phone companies before and action never occurs that quick. It's insane.
I'm still annoyed. As soon as I move and have a better job, I'm soo getting rid of them. Guess I know why the past month went so well for my family and everything :P
