Bad caffeine, bad. It hadn't been affecting me lately so I got overconfident. Drank some around 8 w/ dinner at a chinese restaurant...and boing. At least I'm telling myself it's that and the heat and not the being sick. And gawd, the stupid ass building management had BETTER turn the heat off tomorrow since it's supposed to get up to 70!!!!! It's bad enough it's on right now and the low is only a bit below 50. *grr mumble grumble*

Okay, I don't follow basketball. Really I don't, but who could avoid the Shaq/Kobe rivalry??

Anyway, just read that the Heat (w/ Shaq) just clinched home court advantage for the playoffs.

Wait for it...

and on the same night, the Lakers were eliminated for even playoff contention.

OMG. Guess that the Lakers traded the wrong player after all huh?

From the NYT (Carl Huse) http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/06/politics/06cong.html (reg req)
"[the Judeo-Christian Council for Constitutional Restoration] will discuss potential steps to be discussed are impeaching federal judges who let personal values influence decisions, reducing or eliminating court financing, and giving Congress and the states the power to vacate Supreme Court rulings." Representative Tom Delay was to have attended until he rescheduled to attend the papal funeral.

WTF??? The religious fanatics in Congress want impeach judges who use their personal values when weighing decisions??? HUH? Hypocritical much? How 'bout state and national leaders who let their personal values influence thier votes and policies regardless of the true values/opinions of the constituents who elected them?? Hello, judges on the state level are elected so they have some authority to answer to if they want to be reelected. But federal and appeals judges are appointed for a reason!! So they'll not be hounded by politicians about their decisions about constitutionality etc.

Get a grip republicans and religious fanatics. The world is not conspiring against you, your children will not be forced to participate in satanic rituals---hell, they don't even have to participate in the atheistic commercial celebration of christmas if you don't want them too. In fact, I encourage all religious fanatics to outlaw santa claus and gift giving. Obviously these things are not in line w/ the "true spirit of the holiday".

But, as much as I normally don't care for the man's views, I have to applaud Senator Bill Frist for refusing to jump on the "punish the judiciary for not interpretting our unconstitutional last moment bill forcing them to reconsider the Schiavo case". Stick to your guns Senator and next election you may have more independent and democratic voters even if you were initially behind the push for the Schiavo bill and compromising Mrs. Schiavo's privacy in the public media by imploring her husband to allow you to examine her.

Don't laugh...you have no idea how that warms my heart!! It's one of those things you don't think about till you want them. Then add in the whole *no corn syrup, starch, glucose, etc and ad infinitum* which makes just buying any type of cold medicine a pain in the kiester, finding cough drops is nigh on impossible. And don't tell me to use chloroseptic---the one time I used that since my corn allergy became sensitive and I felt I like I couldn't swallow. but yeah, found a brand of cough drops I can use even if it does have that bad mentholy taste...which is a testament to how badly my chest and throat were hurting/itching/coughing all day that I actually used one for over 4 blocks today on the way home after finding them. Hell, I woulda used mint cough drops if they came w/ a guarantee that they wouldn't break my mouth out or anything.

soo sleeplessness was being ill cause I still ain't tired dammit. Even though I can't think and keep hacking, no sleepy. But at the same time, no muscle aches, headache or runny nose at the same time so I guess I can't complain too much. It's just weird to have everyone look at you to see if you are dying and then croak out that you don't feel as bad as you sound before another fit starts. Sorry...been a while since I've had a cold and I don't think I've ever had a true chest cold w/out any head symptoms.
