Oh my sauna
Mar. 27th, 2005 05:27 pmHappy easter to those of you who celebrate it. Hope everyone had a restful holiday weekend.
*pant pant* Have decided I have to try to see if landlord can do something about the heat. The temp all weekend has been around 50 and I left my window shut when I left on thursday. Came back to a 90 degree apartment (even though I needed a coat outside) in which you could literally smell the heat. The linoleum floor was even warm. Uggh. I mean, it's too fucking hot to even attempt to clean or anything. Ridiculous. I'm even going to limit my internet tonite because I worry for my poor computer (must get brian's vacuum to clean it's vents).
The weekend was fun and relaxing though. Change of scenery was good. And when we went out on friday, I was introduced to a new drink...and given the suspicion that I may actually like shots of tequila if I ever get the balls to try it. Had grapefruit juice and tequila. Not a margarita, but it was nice to have something different from beer for once. Of course, I was totally blitzed after 2 drinks that probably had only 8 ounces of tequila in it maybe. Probably just narrowly averted a bad hangover. But was fun.
Found some T-shirts that are "nice-ish" that didn't have a vneck, boatneck, and had sleeves----I'm not a prude, but I like to cover my shoulders up because I always have bad acne on them during the summers...and then well, I'm not well endowed so i think low cut necks aren't particularly flattering on me. Anway, 3 new tshirts to replace my tattered worn selection that I've worn to work for the last 2 years during the summer. No luck on the shoes though since Rockport continues the idiocy of never carrying any shoes for women below a size 8 in their stores. Which almost pisses me off enough to not buy them anymore, but they had some cute casual shoes. I'll see if zappos has 'em.
The party last night was okay despite the horrid movies we ended up getting. The scriptwriters for The Sky Captain and the Future of Tomorrow should be thrown out of the Writer's Guild post-haste. I did finally see O Brother Where Art Thou----I thought it was pretty good. Wasn't really wild for it like I know so many are, but it was decent. and I got to drool over Orlando and Heath before the party started when we watched Ned Kelly -- again decent, but I definitely thought this movie could have had tighter editing of scenes to keep the action up. And a few less speeches would have been nice too. Oh well, *drools*
I may actually return to DC next weekend -- A friend has a bunch of tickets to a concert...only problem is the show won't start till 1 am sunday morning. Still...we'll see how I feel about it in the morning.
But now I'm back and I'm caught up on my flist even if I didn't comment a ton. Also uploaded a bunch of new icons *waves to the various icon makers* Cred can be seen on my icon page as always. Should really think about doing a new challenge for
the_official as well -- really been neglecting it. And maybe write a bit if it gets cool enough to think.
