So...I don't think tonite's episode was as good as the pilot. The whole suspense arc just seemed off to me and some scenes were too drawn out that shouldn't be. And I'm upset cause I was expecting the cutesy episode they pimped last week that hasn't been shown...and next week's doesn't seem to be. And Patricia Arquette gets annoying when she gets too whiny...(though her husband on the show is oddly cute despite not being very built.....course, he's waaaaaayyyyyyy tooooo cute for an engineer/rocket scientist).

so those are my thoughts. Also, one note: buying a new set of firefly dvds did not solve the xbox's problem of playing the beginning of shindig. Though Ariel did play fine enough. *shrugs* I was sad to find that out.

Oh and for those who may have been wondering, my mom's friend came through her surgery fine. They don't think it was cancer after all....appears to be just a fibroid tumor on initial inspection though they'll have to wait for the path report. And wasn't connected to any organs thankfully! So thanks for the prayers and good thoughts.

And I should have my dell mp3 player by next week!!!!! Whhhee!!!!

Okay...so not really comprehensive...I've just done this several times for people so I thought I'd do it once and for all, stick in my memories, and direct everyone else there. So w/out further ado, my recs for beginner perusers of fanfic w/ the fandoms I've been w/ the longes.

Highlander:
The only thing I keep going back for is the Highlander/Stargate crossover (and I only read stargate in crossovers..so sue me)

You must read DL Witherspoon if you like Sentinel: http://www.skeeter63.org/~tvlit101/ She does crossover, she does amazing regular sentinel stuff, she creates fun new things to screw w/ the sentinel universe, I love her stuff so mcuh and am sad that she doesn't seem to write much anymore.

Firefly --- Go to my user page and go to The Stawberries' award website. The nominees there read like a who's who of Firefly Fanfic. There are some good authors that have started writing since the awards or didn't have everything completed in time for the awards, but that's a good starting place. Oh and feel free to go to FFF.net and harass Zach's Mind w/ me to see if we can get him to finish his buffy/firefly crossover!!! I wanna see how it ends!!
