Didn’t realize I hadn’t posted since June. Doh. A lot since then from the summer.

In July canceled the trip to OK to visit family out of fear of the COVID wave at the time (and monkeypox) and visited my friend J in Maryland. She’s “safe” in general as they take more precautions with her autoimmune issues.

Overall, much fun was had with seeing her new house and playing in the pool with kiddo L. Until day 3 when she started vomiting and we hoped it was just a gastroparesis attack, but trip to urgent care for fluids revealed she was COVID positive. Hubby and L tested positive the next day. I got a PCR test when I returned to NJ and was positive as well. Cue the “mild” case with days of runny nose, firey sore throat, aches, and when i thought i was about to turn corner, the worst nerve pain only in my scalp for 2 days. Seriously, the only thing that helped was sitting outside in the 95 degree heat as any wind movement was excruciating.

Overall, came out of it pretty well, but definitely had extra fatigue for about 2 months. Turned the corner just in time for colonoscopy prep in early October that went sideways when I had allergic reaction to the second half of the prep. Actually may have had a reaction to first half as the skin on my throat around esophagus turned cherry red but there was no swell. Dose 2 resulted in projectile vomiting. Then there was about 2-4 weeks for my guts to recover from that.

Since covid and the failed colonoscopy prep, i have had a lot more GI symptoms. Took benadryl fro symptoms during COVID and never had any GI (or really much chest) symptoms. But since every time i try to remove the remaining 1 benadryl a day (in addition to my daily antihistamine), I get IBS reactions. And finding a food culprit has been elusive as I can eat something 1 day and be fine and the next day react. Every onece in a while i get to dose reduce by a day or 2 and then will react again. Going to doc on monday to see if there’s something more appropriate to be using than benadryl at this point.

Hmm, sorry to hear about the lingering symptoms and the long Covid recovery. I've been hearing that people can carry all sorts of symptoms for an extended period of time, even if fatigue is the most common one.

Ugh, that sounds unpleasant. I'm sorry you're still dealing with that. I hope the doc can offer some better solution.
