So that right knee pain in late may?
It quickly moved into "both knees have pain if left in any one position too long and that includes standing". Have eliminated the new shoes I bought as possible culprit. Found online knee stretches that helped some. Chiro said "runners knee" but nothing -- including rest -- did much good Would have one good day (but not overdo it unless sitting at desk for 4 hours counts) followed by day of much worse pain.
Turmeric didn't seem to do much and excedrin needed for actual pain....which was ruining my "cut down on excedrin usage now that I have a migraine med that works" plan. Ice twice a day didn't do much. Continued to be "full feeling with pain if left in a position or put under stress" but nothing specific to any muscle/ligament.
So Friday July 3 i broke down and went to the doctor to see what was what. NP didn't think xrays were needed (apparently recent xray radiation training. seriously, i've had so few i'm not too worried about that). Ruled out a cyst and handed me 2 samples of Voltaren nsaid creme and a scrip for PT.
Guys, i'd already decided i was going to try an aleve the next day and was dreading the inevitable shedding of my guts. But I figured what the hell let's see.
Within 1 day my knees felt normal again. Not full! pain gone can stay standing and walk around. My right knee continues to have some tenderness in stabilizer (did unweighted lunges today in workout - really only leg exercise beyond my house's stairs planned for the day).
So yeah, my love affair with NSAIDs continue, if only topically now instead of systemically. (yes, yes, i know stroke risk long term continuous use. Hopefully i won't have to do continuously and if I do, i do have some hope of family's immortality gene saving me there).
Off all this week \0/ First part dedicated to getting house cleaned, scheduling house care appointments, neuro to reup the migraine meds, and all that - in prep for going away party for colleague that I'm planning for next week. (we're also back in the office next week supposedly.. We'll see if good old Delta changes that or not).
Then heading down to visit college sister's family including meeting the newest dog nephew as well as foster niece dog.
